Narva Takes Two Coveted Good Design Awards

Brown & Watson International has been recognised with two Narva products attaining the highest awards for design and innovation at the 61^st annual Good Design Awards announced in Sydney earlier in July.

Narva Ultima 175 and 225 Enhanced Optic L.E.D Driving Lights received a prestigious Good Design Award in the Product Design category in recognition for outstanding design and innovation.

The Good Design Award Judging panel praised the Narva Ultima 175 and Ultima 225 Enhanced Optic Driving Lights commenting. “With L.E.D technology growing in popularity in the driving light market coupled with the challenges around keeping costs down and performance up, the Narva design team have created an innovative product that ticks all the boxes and surpassed the brief. These lights have outstanding performance and their visual language allows them to complement any modern vehicle or bull bars. The real innovation is how the lights were designed for manufacture to keep production costs down making the product affordable and competitive. Overall, a robust piece of design and engineering that has been perfectly executed – Well done."

The second award in a similar category covering outstanding design and innovation was the Narva ALS Rechargeable Hand Held Audio Light.

The judges praised the Narva ALS Rechargeable Handheld L.E.D Audio Light commenting “A powerful compact, portable product with a new design that has many practical applications for outdoor and working scenarios. Its robust, intuitive functionality with adjustable stand magnetised to attach to steel frames makes it possible to see applications in many trades.”

Dating back to 1958 the annual Good Design Awards is Australia’s most prestigious international awards program for design and innovation with the awards celebrating best new products and services on the Australian market. The awards cover excellence in architectural design, engineering fashion, digital and communication design and reward emerging areas of design strategy, social impact and design entrepreneurship.

The strict design criteria applied by the judges to each entry covers good design, design innovation and design impact demonstrating excellence in all areas.

“Receiving a Good Design Award at this level is a significant achievement given the very high calibre of entries received this year,” said Dr Brandon Gien, CEO of Good Design Australia. “With a record number of submissions being close to 700 design projects evaluated in this year’s international design awards it is remarkable achievement for Narva,” he said.
